ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly specialised Panel Beater and Spray Painter with extensive experience in heavy vehicle repair and drag racing mechanics to join the team. This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise, precision and innovation to meet the high standards of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repairing and restoring damaged heavy vehicles, including trucks and trailers, to ensure they meet both functional and safety standards.
  • Performing advanced panel beating, welding and spray-painting techniques to achieve exceptional aesthetic and structural results.
  • Applying specialised knowledge of drag racing mechanics to repair and enhance high performance vehicles.
  • Inspecting and preparing vehicles for repair, including assessing damage and determining the best course of action.
  • Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Mentoring and training apprentices to support the development of skilled tradespeople in the automotive industry.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in panel beating and spray painting, with a focus on heavy vehicles and/or high performance vehicles.
  • Proven expertise in drag racing mechanics, including the repair and enhancement of high-performance vehicles.
  • Demonstrate ability to deliver precision craftsmanship and consistently exceed industry standards.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of mentoring appreciates or junior staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant trade qualification in panel beating and spray painting.
  • Experience managing in automotive repair business or leading a team in a similar environment.
